About Montessori
How is a Montessori classroom different from a traditional classroom? In a simple answer that leads to many more questions, the Montessori classroom is an environment, artfully organized, with materials designed to encourage the child to learn for the love of learning. The adult in the environment has been trained in the Montessori Method and acts as a liason between the child and her environment.
Montessori is a way of life where a love of learning is the foundation for all other inner progress. A simple overview of the method or the woman behind the movement is impossible. I suggest some of the various readings listed to the right if you would like more in depth information on the method.
